南海仲裁案判決結果出爐，國安、外交系統動員因應。外交部長李大維13日在立法院外交國防委員會答復民進黨立委陳亭妃質詢時表示，目前沒有安排蔡英文總統登上太平島，但是未來不排除。李大維說：『(原音)(立委陳亭妃：有很多人建議，這個時間點，蔡總統應該登島，你認為呢？)依照目前政府規劃，並沒有這樣規劃，但是我想來我們也不排除。』
國際仲裁法庭判斷太平島是礁、不是島，認為太平島不能主張200海里的專屬經濟區，只能擁有12海里的領海。海巡署副署長胡意剛回答民進黨立委蔡適應質詢時表示，如果有他國漁船進入太平島專屬經濟海域，海巡艦艇會驅離，未來也將增派船艦到太平島水域，執行護漁任務。
李大維也表示，仲裁判決書中提到「穩定住民權」，未來政府也應考慮是否在太平島上有常住的人民，以更符合國際仲裁法院對島嶼地位的判斷要件。
